The presentation was made during the16th Session of the Biennial Meeting of Kenya's Ambassadors and High Commissioners held in August 2011. It provides an overview of the Government’s systematic approach towards rehabilitating the Mau Forests Complex. It also provides an overview of the progress made by the Government, in particular the Interim Coordinating Secretariat, in rehabilitating the Mau since the establishment of the Interim Coordinating Secretariat in September 2009.
This presentation highlights the achievements of the Joint Enforcement Unit in securing the forest resources in the Mau Forests Complex during the period July 2008 - December 2009.

The presentation provides an overview of the main components of the Programme Document for the Rehabilitation of the Mau Forest Ecosystem that was presented to strategic partners on 5 May 2010 at UNEP HQ. The Programme Document was prepared by ICS in collaboration with relevant Ministries and with support from UNEP.
